Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - Ben Gordon scored 27 points to lead the
Chicago Bulls to an easy 123-96 win over the Seattle SuperSonics at the United Center.
Luol Deng added 20 points and Joe Smith a season-high 19 for the Bulls, who have won five of seven.
Kirk Hinrich finished with 15 points, eight assists and six rebounds for Chicago, which shot a sizzling 53.7 percent, despite entering with the worst shooting percentage in the NBA.
"It wasn't exactly a defensive gem out there by either team," said Chicago coach Scott Skiles. "We got loosened up early, and shot the ball well. It was clear, offensively, we were going to have a good night. It was just a matter of could we get them under control. Eventually we did for a little while and we were able to pull away."
Kevin Durant scored 16 points, while Wally Szczerbiak and Mickael Gelabale added 12 points apiece for the Timberwolves, who have lost nine of 12.
"They picked us apart, hit a lot of shots and it was hard to contain them," said Durant. "Gordon and Deng did a great job tonight. We just have to stick to the game plan, because we knew coming into tonight they weren't shooting very well. But they did a great job of knocking down shots tonight."
Leading 40-35 early in the second quarter, Chicago pulled away with an 11-0 run, sparked by a Smith jumper and culminated with his layup for 51-35 lead with 6:45 left before intermission.
Deng then took over offensively for the Bulls, scoring eight points in the final 3:34 of the half and Gordon's floater at the buzzer gave Chicago a 67-49 at the break.
The Bulls put a stamp on the game with an 8-0 surge, capped by Hinrich's driving layup for a commanding 77-52 lead with 7:47 left in the third.
Chicago led 97-73 after three quarters and was never threatened in the fourth.
The Bulls dominated the boards, outrebounding the Seattle 44-34. The Supersonics also shot themselves in the foot with 18 turnovers.
Gordon set the tone for the Bulls, making six of seven shots from the field in the first quarter and Chicago led 31-27 after the opening 12 minutes.
