Minneapolis, MN (My Sportsbook) - The
Orlando Magic look to win their third straight game to open the season when they clash with the
Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday at Target Center.
The Magic have posted wins over Philadelphia and Miami to begin the 2002-03 campaign.
On Wednesday, Tracy McGrady scored 24 points and Grant Hill added 17 to lead Orlando to a 100-86 win over the Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena. McGrady had 31 points in Orlando's season-opening win versus the Sixers.
Pat Garrity contributed 16 points in Wednesday's game and Mike Miller had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Magic, who improved to 2-0 for the fourth time in franchise history and first since 1993-94.
However, the Magic learned they could be without forward Horace Grant until December, because his left knee has not healed from arthroscopic surgery. Grant underwent the surgery seven weeks ago.
The veteran forward is not expected to return until the knee, which has been giving him pain and is still swelling, is completely healed.
In the T'wolves' season-opener Wednesday, former Magic player Troy Hudson scored a game-high 23 points and Anthony Peeler added 14, as Minnesota held on for an 83-77 win over the Denver Nuggets.
Kevin Garnett netted 13 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and handed out seven assists for Minnesota, which shot 42 percent from the floor. Rasho Nesterovic finished with 10 points and 10 boards in the win.
Garnett scored the 10,000th point of his career with his first basket in the second quarter.
Wally Szczerbiak (foot) sat out Minnesota's opener, but is probable for Friday's game.
The Magic and T'wolves split their two meetings last season, with the home team winning each contest. Orlando has won five of the last eight meetings overall, but has dropped two in a row at Minnesota.
Friday's contest begins a stretch of six straight games against Eastern Conference foes for Minnesota.
