Auburn Hills, MI (My Sportsbook) - Detroit Pistons center Zeljko Rebraca had surgery on Thursday to correct an irregular heartbeat. He is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in October. Due to the injury, Rebraca was sidelined for 50 contests last season for the Pistons, who reached the Eastern Conference Finals but fell to the New Jersey Nets. The Yugoslavian appeared in 30 games in the 2002-03 season and averaged 6.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 16.3 minutes per contest. Rebraca had said he would consider retiring if the problem continued. The successful procedure was performed by Dr. Fred Morady at the University of Michigan Hospital. While playing for Benetton in Italy, Rebraca was Europe's MVP.
