New York Knicks conclude their four-game road trip Saturday with a stop in Los Angeles for a matchup with the Clippers at Staples Center.
The Knicks improved to 2-1 on their swing on Friday with a 94-92 overtime victory over the Utah Jazz.
Allan Houston hit the game-winning jumper with 4.4 seconds left in OT to lift the Knicks. Houston had 27 points for New York, which won its second straight game.
The Knicks remained 3 1/2 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks, who beat Cleveland on Friday, for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Kurt Thomas added 20 points and nine boards for the Knicks. Shandon Anderson also chipped in 17 points against his former team in the win. Latrell Sprewell had just six points on 3-of-12 shooting for New York.
The Knicks have still lost four of their last six road games and are 12-26 away from home this season. New York is 14-13 against the Western Conference.
The Clippers lost for the sixth time in seven games on Friday by suffering a 101-93 loss to the Seattle SuperSonics.
Eric Piatkowski led the Clippers with 21 points and Elton Brand contributed 15 with a game-high 19 rebounds. Lamar Odom contributed 19 points for LA.
The Sonics led by as many as 15 points in the second half, but Los Angeles tied the contest at 88-88 with two minutes remaining. Seattle then responded with six straight points to lead 94-88 with 1:16 to go and LA never recovered.
The Clippers have lost four of their last six home games and are 14-25 in their building this season. LA is 10-18 against the Eastern Conference.
This is the final meeting between the Knicks and Clippers this season. They met back on February 4 in New York, with the Knicks capturing a 105-92 victory.
The Knicks have won eight of the past 12 meetings overall, but have dropped three straight road games to the Clippers.
