Dallas, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Dallas Mavericks signed free agent swingman Walt Williams on Friday. Per club policy, terms of the contract were not released. A 10-year NBA veteran, Williams holds career averages of 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He was a member of the Houston Rockets for the last three seasons and averaged 9.4 points, 3.4 boards and 1.4 assists during the 2001-02 campaign. The 6-8 Williams was drafted as the seventh overall pick by the Sacramento Kings in the 1992 NBA Draft. He played his first 3 1/2 seasons for the Kings before being traded to the Miami Heat on February 22, 1996. He has also spent time with the Toronto Raptors and Portland Trail Blazers. |
