Moscow, Russia (My Sportsbook) - The Russian Football Federation confirmed on Wednesday that Guus Hiddnik will be the next coach of the country's national team. The 59-year-old Dutchman has agreed to terms, and is expected to sign a contract on Friday. However, Hiddink won't take on the position until July 9, because he is already under contract to lead Australia in this summer's World Cup. Russia failed to qualify for the trip to Germany after a disappointing qualifying stage. Hiddink will be taking over for Yuri Semin, who was let go after failing to get Russia out of Group 3 in qualifying play. Hiddink currently coaches PSV, but will walk away from the Eredivisie champions at the end of the season.
