Milwaukee, WI (My Sportsbook) - The Seattle SuperSonics try to halt a two- game slide on Thursday when they square off with the
Milwaukee Bucks at the Bradley Center.
Seattle lost for the third time in four games on Wednesday, as it was pounded by the Celtics, 114-74, in Boston.
Rashard Lewis paced the SuperSonics with 15 points and Gary Payton netted 14 points and handed out nine assists. Desmond Mason chipped in 12 points and seven boards.
Seattle, which was outscored 35-13 in the fourth quarter, shot 36.3 percent from the floor for the game, including 2-of-12 from three-point range.
It marked the first meeting between the teams since an offseason trade sent Vin Baker and Shammond Williams to Boston for Kenny Anderson, Vitaly Potapenko and Joseph Forte. Baker missed the game with lightheadedness, while Williams scored 15 points against his former team.
The Sonics, who conclude a brief three-game road trip Thursday, have lost six of their last seven road games and are 11-15 away from home. Seattle is 9-12 against the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks had a two-game winning streak halted on Tuesday, as they fell to the Toronto Raptors, 98-95. With the loss, Milwaukee dropped to 2-2 on its eight- game homestand.
Michael Redd paced Milwaukee with 24 points. Ray Allen chipped in 21 points and had a chance at a game-tying three-pointer in the final seconds, but his attempt was blocked by Vince Carter.
Sam Cassell collected 20 points and seven assists for the Bucks, who lost for only the third time in their last 13 contests. Anthony Mason had 13 points and seven assists for Milwaukee, while Ervin Johnson grabbed 11 rebounds.
Milwaukee is 13-11 at home this season and 4-7 against teams from the Western Conference.
This is the first meeting between these teams this season. Seattle captured both encounters last season and has won four straight overall. The Sonics have also won three straight in Milwaukee.
