Wilmington, NC (My Sportsbook) - The Washington Wizards will sign veteran forward Charles Oakley to a one-year contract, according to a published report. The Washington Post reported on Thursday that the contract will be signed by the end of the weekend and the deal is worth $1 million. Oakley, 38, has played 17 seasons in the NBA. He has taken the court for the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors. Over his career, Oakley has averaged 10.0 points and 9.8 rebounds in 1,233 games. If Oakley signs with Washington he would be reunited with former Bulls teammate Michael Jordan, who announced Thursday that he would be returning to the club next season, and former Knicks center Patrick Ewing, who was hired by Washington to be an assistant coach.
