ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -With their top three tailbacks sidelined, the Denver Broncos have signed veteran free agent Justin Fargas. The 30-year-old Fargas spent his first seven seasons in Oakland after the Raiders drafted him in the third round out of Southern Cal in 2003. He failed his physical with the Raiders in March because of a knee injury. The oft-injured Fargas has been a force when healthy. He's rushed for 3,369 yards on 827 career carries for a 4.1-yard average and 10 touchdowns. He's also caug |

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -The banged-up Denver Broncos had some players return to the field for a change instead of simply hobbling off. These days, that's been a rare sight. A rash of injuries has ravaged the Broncos in training camp, most prominently Pro Bowler Elvis Dumervil's torn chest muscle that required surgery Tuesday and could sideline him for the season. Linebacker D.J. Williams was back at practice after missing the majority of camp for an undisclosed reason. He was wearing an orange no-cont |

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Mike Shanahan learned a valuable lesson about injuries during his Denver Broncos days, back when he decided the goal line drill would be the perfect time to crack the whip and make the guys tackle. ``I went full speed, I think, three years in a row in goal line,'' Shanahan said, ``and I lost one guy each year. And I looked at myself and said, 'What are you trying to do with those 12 plays? What's the difference?''' Now the coach of the Washington Redskins, Shanahan is overseeing one |

| ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -There was a time in Mario Haggan's career when he only got on the field for kickoffs and when another linebacker needed a quick breather. That was typically it, as far as his role went. Until last season, that is, when the Denver Broncos veteran deviated from the script, seizing the starting job out of camp and suiting up every game. Now, a year later, Haggan may be the most valuable member of a dinged-up linebacker crew. With Pro Bowler Elvis Dumervil headed for surgery on his |

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -The Denver Broncos ensured themselves that they wouldn't lose another player to injury Sunday by canceling their practice. Their next workout isn't until Tuesday. The Broncos have been hit by a rash of injuries so far, most notably Elvis Dumervil's torn chest muscle that will likely sideline him for the season. Top draft pick Demaryius Thomas injured his left foot Saturday night - the same one he broke in predraft workouts - and is undergoing medical tests. Fellow rookie receiv |

DENVER (AP) -Tim Tebow was all the buzz Saturday night at the Denver Broncos' practice. The rookie quarterback stood out not only for his play at practice but for his shaved locks, the top of his head completely sheared to leave a ring of hair that made him look like a monk. The pranks the veterans will play. Tebow and the other rookies had their heads decorated with wacky haircuts before the workout and they had to show them off during warm-ups when they couldn't hide underneath their helmets. ``I |
